Terms of Use
Effective August 8, 2026
Gravity Lens Lab is offered as a free browser-based educational experiment. By using the public interface, you agree to use it lawfully and in a way that does not interfere with the service or other visitors. No account or payment is required for the current experience.
The simulator is a lightweight, normalized Schwarzschild teaching approximation. It is intended to help visitors compare how mass and an approximate impact parameter relate to a visual light path. It is not research software, an astronomy observation service, engineering guidance, navigation advice, or a substitute for a physics textbook, instructor, numerical relativity package, or peer-reviewed source. Do not rely on its artistic output for scientific, financial, safety-critical, or operational decisions.
You may use the ordinary interface for personal learning, classroom demonstration, and reasonable evaluation. You may not deliberately disrupt availability, attempt unauthorized access, probe visitors, introduce malicious code, generate abusive automated traffic, bypass security controls, scrape in a way that harms service, or misrepresent Gravity Lens Lab as affiliated with a university, observatory, space agency, or commercial simulation product.
The service is provided as available, without a promise that access will be uninterrupted, error-free, permanently preserved, or suitable for a particular purpose. Source position, selected mass, and run progress are temporary interface state. Features, explanatory language, model parameters, hosting, and availability may change as the original experiment is tested and improved.
The site’s original interface code, explanatory writing, visual composition, Canvas overlays, and production artwork remain protected by their applicable rights. Physical equations, scientific facts, and descriptive terms are used for education and are not claimed as exclusive property. Links to an external public GitHub profile are provided for contact routing and convenience; use of that platform is governed by its own terms.
Reports should be factual, relevant, and free of personal or sensitive information. Abuse may result in access restrictions where technically available. The current public contact entry for questions about these terms is the maintainer’s GitHub profile.
